Addie-11, Ashlyn-9, Aliza-7, & Annelise-5

Our family friends came into town from Montana a week ago and I was able to take their adorable granddaughters' pictures! It was a lot of fun working with older kids, they provided me with a lot of good, original ideas for posing. We took a trip to the park and walked around checking out the playground and the flooding (I couldn't believe that the water was up that high again, I thougt we were done with flooding for the year?!)
So, here is your post ladies, thanks again for letting me take your pictures..you are beautiful and growing up so fast!

Rylynn- 18 months

Little miss Rylynn is such a sweetie, she makes my job so easy and fun! She was smiley, talkative and not a bit shy. We had fun playing in her tutu's that her very talented mommy made especially for the shoot. She is (hopefully!) going to open up her own shop and start selling them but for now if you are interested I have quite a few that I will be bringing with to photo shoots and you can purchase them from me or order a customized one. They are very affordable and not only make for a fantastic photo prop, but also a fun dress up accessory!

Emmalyn- 6 months

I had the chance to take Emmalyn's 4 month pictures two months ago and when her mom contacted me about taking her 6 month pictures I was very excited! She was my first 'repeat' client! I loved getting to see her again, she has grown so much in that short amount of time! We headed outside to take photos this time and although she was a little more interested the grass and everything else happening around her, we still managed to get some cool, cute shots! Here is her sneak peek and a collection of my favorites.

Emmalyn is also entered in my cutest kid contest that I am currently running. If you want to book a session with me anytime from now until July 15 you can get a free 8x10 print with your session CD. You are also entered for a chance to win an 8x8 photo book or an 8x10 gallery canvas wrap (your choice if your child is voted cutest kid). Voting with take place for 1 week after the contest ends on my blog and on my facebook page.

Design time

I have been having a lot of fun designing collages and photo cards (in this case a birth announcement). I thought that I would showcase some of the fun things I have been working on. If you see something you like let me know during your session and I will try to make something similar. Since these are pretty time consuming I will be charging a design fee for any creations you'd like me to do. It am thinking $5 for collages and $10 for photo cards and announcements (I have been making a couple of samples each time to make sure clients like them!) Oh, and by the way if you are a friend or family member of the 'R' family in the pictures below, they aren't using this birth announcement! I didn't want to give that away since the cards haven't been sent out yet!

Anna- 2, and Andon- 10 days

I was so excited last winter to hear that our good friends were going to have another baby! I asked them right away if I could take their new babies pictures since I have been itching to have a newborn session! Little Andon arrived and I was able to come to their home for a photo shoot when he was only 10 days old. I had him model my new knit hat from Charbridge Knits & Gifts etsy shop...I love them and plan on using them again in the future!

Anna, Andon's big sister, turned 2 in April and we decided to wait until the baby came to do her portraits. She is growing up so quickly, I remember when she was this little guy's size, they don't stay like that for long! We went outside to play for her session and she was pretty serious. I did manage to capture a few sweet little smiles when she was on the swings though! She has the prettiest blue eyes that just lit up when she talked about (or showed me) things she liked, babies, books, and toys (pretty much what everyother little two year old girl is into!).

Thanks again 'R' family for letting me take your adorable new family of 4's pictures!

A first taste...

Tyson has been trying more and more foods that the rest of us eat. Part of it is because he protests against being spoon fed anymore and part of it is because it is easier for me! The clean up is not easier, obviously, but being the mama of three I know that this soon shall pass. He is learning, and everyday he gets a little bit better at self-feeding. Tonight we had spaghetti and I decided to let him have at it, knowing that he could just get into the bath tub afterward. He loved it, to say they least. I think that these pictures really tell the story. He went at it and didn't stop until his tray was all clean. The little man has yet to meet a food that he doesn't like!

I am really liking photoshop these days and pioneer woman actions. I combine many of them to create this look along with a high ISO on my camera to create some graininess in the photos. I wouldn't use these for portraits usually but they are great at depicting everyday life. I love that these crazy, messy moments are my life. I might not immediately enjoy them but looking back at these photos makes me love my crazy life!

Mmmm, I love this stuff

Yumm, Spaghetti!

I love Ty's eye's in this photo along with the purple ball. He was in the tub getting cleaned up but you can't really tell. I used my 50mm 1.4 lens with my aperture wide open and a high ISO. I am so excited that I finally get it w/ my camera and settings!

My sweet and spicy little Madi with a cute shampoo hairdoo, she loves this photo! She got out of bed twice when I was editing to admire it!
